Brazil January 2013: Chevrolet Onix breaks into Top 5

Robust start of the year for the Brazilian new car market: up 17% year-on-year to 296,853 registrations. Below the VW Gol at 22,338 sales and 7.5%, the Fiat Uno is back to #2 at 18,025 units and 6.1% while the Fiat Palio is down to #3 but up to 5.8% share thanks to 17,358 sales. But the big event this month is the arrival inside the Top 5 of the Chevrolet Onix, up 2 spots on December to #5 at 10,724 units and 3.6% and already the brand’s best-seller in the country.
The Hyundai HB20 is down 2 ranks on last month to #9 with 9,030 sales and 3% share. Notice also the Ford Ecosport solid at #14, the Fiat Punto up to #17, its highest ranking since last August, the Toyota Etios Hatch up 15 spots to #32, the Chevrolet Cruze Hatch up 3 to #39 and now selling better than the Sedan and the Toyota Etios Sedan up 13 to #48.
