Brazil mid-January 2013: Chevy Onix up to #7, Hyundai HB20 #12

Brazil is the first cab off the rank for 2013 data with sales figures for the first half of the month now available: and new car sales are off to an amazing start in the country, up 27% year-on-year to 151,192 registrations. Below the VW Gol currently unbeatable with 11,955 sales and 7.9%, the Fiat Uno reclaims the 2nd spot it lost to the Palio last month thanks to 8,671 units and 5.7% vs. 8,386 and 5.5% for the Palio, which actually delivers a higher market share than over the full month of December.
After dropping from #6 at mid-month to #8 in December, the Chevrolet Onix is back up to #7 with 4,924 sales and 3.3% (vs. 3.1% in December) while the Hyundai HB20 may already have hit its best, falling from #7 in December to #12 at mid-January with 3,921 units and 2.6%. The Ford Ecosport maintains itself at a very satisfying 14th place vs. #25 in 2012, the Chevrolet Spin is up one to #26, the Ford Ranger up 5 to #35, Chevrolet Cruze Hatch up 9 to a best-ever #33 and now selling better than the Sedan, the Toyota Etios Hatch is also up 9 to a record #38 and the Toyota Etios Sedan up to #52.
