Renault is up to 16.1% share in Bulgaria vs. 10.2% in 2020.
The Bulgarian new car market freefalls -68.1% year-on-year in May to just 1.448 units, leading to a year-to-date tally down -47.1% to 10.042. Renault (-50.3%) snaps the brands top spot for the first time in 2020, shooting up to 16.1% share vs. 10.2% so far this year and overtaking Dacia (-50.8%) which however remains in the YTD lead. Toyota (-50.2%) remains at a strong third place with 11.2% share vs. 10.2% YTD while Skoda (-79.5%) edges up to #4 ahead of Volkswagen (-67.9%). Mercedes (-50%) and BMW (-56.3%) also outpace the market in the remainder of the Top 10 but Nissan (-84.1%) and Peugeot (-75.2%) struggle. Further down, Alfa Romeo (+400%) and Mini (+100%) post the only year-on-year gains in market while Mitsubishi (-16.7%), Porsche (-25%), Hyundai (-33.3%) and Jeep (-38.5%) contain their losses.
