Turkey March 2016: Renault Fluence and Symbol on podium
The Renault Symbol ranks third in Turkey in March.

The Turkish new light vehicle market is down a tiny 0.4% year-on-year to 82.948 registrations, a very solid performance in itself given March 2015 was up 75%. The year-to-date total is down 3% to 173.248 units. A very unusual situation, Renault and Volkswagen tie for the brands pole position with 11.293 sales each and 13.6% share each. For Renault this is a 15% improvement but for Volkswagen it’s a 12% drop. VW leads the way year-to-date at 23.975 (-15%) vs. 21.974 (+13%) for Renault. Ford (11.8%) and Fiat (10.1%) follow with Hyundai (5.5%) rounding up the Top 5. Note the outstanding performances of Nissan (+70%), Skoda (+25%) and Honda (+96%). Model-wise, the Renault Fluence resists in the top spot with 3.800 sales, distancing the Ford Courier and Renault Symbol – up 8 spots on February. The Fiat Egea drops out of the podium but still ranks at a very solid 4h place with a round 3.000 sales and 3.6% share, slightly higher than its year-to-date level (3.5%).
