Türkiye October 2026: Togg up to record 8.4% share, BMW X1, Hyundai Ioniq 3 shine in mediocre market (-30.8%)

The locally made Hyundai Ioniq 3 lands directly inside the Turkish Top 20.

New light vehicle sales in Turkiye freefall year-on-year in October at -30.8% to just 80,334 units. Keep in mind October 2025 was an all time record. The lifting of the vehicle tax is also responsible for this mediocre performance. The year-to-date volume is now down -15.3% to 883,799. Renault (-13.9%) is the best-selling carmaker in the country again with 13.3% share, with Volkswagen (-37.6%) back up two spots month-on-month to #2, but down harshly on October 2026 when it ranked #1 overall. Local EV maker Togg (+62.7%) continues to ignore the mediocre market and reaches a new record volume (6,671) and share (8.4%) for the third month in a row. BMW (+59.8%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 with Fiat (-65.1%), Ford (-56.3%), Citroen (-50.5%), Toyota (-43.1%) and Peugeot (-36%) recording the biggest losses.

Over in the passenger models charts, the Togg T10X (+150.1%) threepeats at #1 with 6.3% share vs. 3.8% so far this year. The VW T-Roc (+28%) soars up 18 spots on last month to #2 with 5.1% share vs. #19 year-to-date, with the new Renault Boreal closing out the podium. The Togg T10F (+6.7%) advances to a record 4th place ahead of the discontinued Renault Megane Sedan (-50.2%). The Renault Duster (+71.4%) repeats at #6 while the BMW X1 (+185.4%) surges from outside the September Top 40 directly to #7. The new locally made Hyundai Ioniq 3 lands directly at #19 which is a world best.
