Turkiye July 2026: Renault Boreal best-seller
The Renault Boreal is an instant blockbuster in Turkiye.
New light vehicle sales in Turkiye endure a harsh -25% year-on-year fall in July to 80,786 units, leading to a year-to-date volume off -10.7% to 638,965. Renault (-23.2%) remains the best-selling carmaker in the country while Volkswagen (-8%) resists and overtakes Fiat (-38.9%) for second place. Hyundai (-1.4%) is up three spots on June to #4 just as Toyota (-28.1%), in great difficulty, rounds out the Top 5. Local EV maker Togg ignores the surrounding gloom and surges 69.1% to #8 and 5.7% share, two new records. Skoda (+12.8%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 at #10. Further down, Jeep (+170.6%), Mini (+127.9%), Omoda & Jaecoo (+73%) and Volvo (+54.8%) stand out.
We have a big surprise atop the models charts: the new Renault Boreal storms into pole position for its second month in market with 4.9% share. This is much needed good news for Renault this month as the Clio is off -72.7% due to its generation changeover and the Megane Sedan (-70.4%) is now discontinued (as is the Fiat Egea Sedan at -65.5%). Second surprise: the Togg T10X (+4.4%) climbs to a best-ever 2nd place, also hit in April and May 2024. The Toyota Corolla (-3.4%) is back up to #3 and ascends to #2 year-to-date. Excellent scores also for the Renault Duster (+255.9%), VW Taigo (+117%) and Hyundai i20 (+14.9%) while the new Togg T10F reaches a record #7.

It will be very interesting to watch the changes in the Turkish market now that both popular the Fiat Egea and Renault Megane Sedan are being discontinued and where will future buyers go. I wonder if this is a good opportunity for Toyota Corolla and Togg T10F or other remained sedans /liftbacks to take the lead, or will they just actively switch to crossovers? In that case, the Renault Boreal will remain popular, and Fiat needs some kind of replacement for the Egea, even if it is a crossover, which will probably be the Fiat Grizzly.
Thanks for sharing this detailed market update. It’s interesting to see how brand performance and new model launches continue to influence buyer preferences. These global insights are useful for anyone planning to Buy and Sell Used Cars in Singapore and stay informed about the automotive industry.
