Turkiye August 2026: Togg T10X signs first ever win in market down -20.3%

The Togg T10X is the most popular vehicle at home in August.

The Turkish new light vehicle market endures a -20.3% year-on-year loss in August to 81,031 units, leading to a year-to-date tally off -11.9% to 719,996. Renault (-16.9%) manages the fall slightly slower than the market but at 10.8% share it is way below its YTD level of 12.7%. Volkswagen (+3.8%) stays at #2, a ranking it now also holds YTD, passing Fiat (-34.7%) impacted by the discontinuation of the Egea. Toyota (-9.7%) and Hyundai (-7.3%) resist in context but the performer of the month is without contest local EV maker Togg (+291.2%) up 4-fold year-on-year to climb to #6 with 4,886 sales and 6% share, all records. Mercedes (+3.3%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10. Notice also Tesla down -96.8% and BYD down -98.2%.

Model-wise, we have a first this month: the Togg T10X (+135.3%) edges up one spot on July to snap the overall pole position with 4.8% of its home market. As a result it climbs to #4 year-to-date. The Renault Duster (+234.2%) is also in outstanding shape at a record #2, followed by the Toyota Corolla (+22.5%) also defying the negative market and cementing its 2nd place YTD. The Kia Sportage (+827.1%) is up 10 spots on last month to #4 while the new Togg T10F breaks into the Top 5 for the first time at #5. The Renault Clio (-41.8%) once again suffers from a botched generation changeover but is back up 20 ranks on last month to #6 and remains the best-selling vehicle in the country year-to-date. The KG Mobility Torres (+110.2%) reaches an all-time high #7 just as the Renault Boreal, #1 last month, is down to a still respectable #9, marking three consecutive months inside the Top 10.
