Turkey March 2015: Toyota Corolla tops market up 75%

The Toyota Corolla is the best-selling nameplate in Turkey in March.

New light vehicle sales in Turkey are up an explosive 75% year-on-year in March to 83,302 registrations – keeping in mind March 2014 was down 31% on a year before. First quarter sales are up a fantastic 50% to 115,272 units. Brand-wise, Volkswagen (15.5%), Ford (up 178% to 11.9%), Renault (11.8%) and Fiat (up 91% to 11.2%) dominate. In the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla takes the lead for the first time in years thanks to 3,489 sales, followed by the Fiat Doblo at 3,276 and the Fiat Linea, #1 year-to-date, at 3,129. The Ford Transit/Tourneo Courier, manufactured locally, is down two spots to #4 but remains #2 so far in 2015. The Renault Fluence is back up 7 spots to #5 and the VW Jetta up 11 to #10.
