The Romanian new car market is in negative for the 5th year in a row, going from an all-time high of 343,080 registrations in 2008, down 55% in 2009-19% in 2010-14% in 2011-19% in 2012 and down a further 13% in 2013 to just 57,710 sales, the weakest annual total in the country in over 20 years. In pole position, Dacia improves its market share from 24.7% in 2012 to 30.4% this year thanks to sales up 7% to 17,554 units and an extended range. The Top 5 most popular carmakers are unchanged year-on-year, with Volkswagen at #2 (-22%) followed by Skoda (-18%), Ford (-28%) and Renault (-33%).
