As usual, after exploring the Passenger car Top 30 and the Kei car Top 20 in Japan, we have a more detailed look at overall September sales split by version and with Light Commercial Vehicles added. This is to see how the Toyota Prius Alpha and Honda Fit Shuttle perform among other things. For the 8th month in a row (no interruption since last February!) the Toyota Aqua wins at this little game with 22,039 sales. It is now followed by the Suzuki Wagon R which has reclaimed the Kei car lead with 20,891 units while the Honda NBOX is down one spot to round up the podium.

The big event this month is the arrival of the new generation Nissan Note at #4 with 18,355 sales. With the Toyota Prius/Prius Alpha split available, we can see that the Note is above the Prius hatchback at 14,340 units as the Alpha MPV version sold 7,751 units this month (#11). Notice also the Honda Fit Shuttle at #35 (3,212 sales). This ranking also why Impreza sales shoot up dramatically this month (#13 at 7,278 units): they also include the XV variant, just launched in Japan.
