Sales of new Kei cars are up 7% year-on-year in September to 158,208, bringing the year-to-date total to 1,571,616 units, up 41% on 2011. For the first time since September 2011, the Suzuki Wagon R, best-selling Kei car in the Full Year from 2003 up until 2011, is back in pole position with 20,891 sales, up 29% year-on-year. It is however still #3 year-to-date at 152,963 units and 26%. After 5 consecutive months of reign, the Honda NBOX is down to #2 in September with a still excellent 19,914 sales, and stays #2 year-to-date at 162,900 sales.

Suzuki Wagon R Stingray

Still in the lead year-to-date with 176,051 units (+182%), the Daihatsu Mira is #3 this month at 15,761 sales, ahead of the Daihatsu Tanto at 13,558 units and the Daihatsu Move at 11,240. The Suzuki Alto (+16%) and Palette (-28%) follow. Notice also the Suzuki MR Wagon up 18% to #10, the Nissan Otti up 71% to #18 and the Mazda Flair Wagon launched in June and already #20 with 657 sales.

    Anybody own the Stella (2013)? I’d like to know how close it actually comes to 27 km/l.

    When will this Model (Wagon R Stingray) make it to INDIA ?
    Hope this model is launched in January 2013 with all the goodies as available in Japan with the current K10 1ltr engine.
