March 2020 update: Now with Top 62 All-brands and Top 350 All-models.
The Czech car market is up 4.7% in 2010 at 169,236 registrations. Skoda (+11.3%) seems to have bottomed out, improving its share for the first time since we started following Czech brands ranking annually in 2005. It bounces back above the 30% milestone to 31.3% whereas Ford (-11.3%), in outstanding shape recently, drops to 8.4% share, The rest of the Top 6 is also unchanged, composed of Volkswagen (+10.9%), Renault (+12.5%), Hyundai (+19.9%) and Kia (+8.8%).
In the models ranking, Skoda delivers a 1-2-3 for the second time since Eastern Europe opened up to competition, the first being 2007. The Octavia (+17.8%) reinforces its leadership at 15.3% share, whereas the Fabia (-9.2%) drops below the symbolic 10% share and the Superb (+46.4%) has a stunning year and scores its first ever podium finish at home.
Were it not for a very solid December from the Hyundai i30 (+31.6%), 4th overall, another Skoda would be #4 but the Yeti (+160.8%) ends its first full year of sales at #5. The only Skoda not in such good shape is the Roomster (-26.8%) down to #13.
