Czech Rep 2007: Fabia/Octavia/Roomster: podium 100% Skoda

In a Czech market up 7% at 132,432 registrations, Skoda monopolises the podium for the first time since the Eastern European countries opened to competition. The Skoda Fabia is the best seller for 8th consecutive year at 27,611 sales (-16%), however its market share drops 6 points to 20.8% in spite of the Phase 2 launch during the year.
The Skoda Octavia is up 2% at 14,971 sales, its market share slightly down at 11.3%. For its first full year of sales, the Skoda Roomster moves 4,488 units for a brilliant 3.4% share at #3. Big surprise on top of the imports: the Ford Fusion grows 234% year-on-year to reach 2,835 sales, and at 2.1% it’s the only foreign model to grab more than 2% share this year. Notice the arrival of the Kia Cee’d, produced in neighbouring Slovakia, in 10th place at 1,949 sales (1.5%).
