Czechia September 2026: Skoda monopolises Top 7, Epiq up
The Skoda Epiq is up to #23 at home in September.
Disappointing month for new car sales in Czechia at -10.6% year-on-year to 19,095. The year-to-date tally however remains in positive at +2.4% to 186,770. Skoda (-13.7%) manages a 36.7% share, its best since last April and to be compared with the 36.3% it commands YTD. The next five carmakers are all in negative: Toyota drops -15.3%, Volkswagen is off -3.4%, Hyundai sinks -29.1%, Kia isn’t much better at -16% and Dacia falls -21.3%. Peugeot (+24.3%), BMW (+17.2%) and Ford (+13.2%) defy the negative market with splendid year-on-year lifts in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, Mazda (+147.4%), Tesla (+87.2%), Omoda/Jaecoo (+57.9% but down 12 spots on August to #21), Suzuki (+45.4%) and Volvo (+20.8%) stand out.
Model-wise, Skoda monopolises the Top 7 for the 5th time in the past 12 months after October 2025, January, February and March 2026. The Octavia (-12.1%) cements its dominance with 8.2% share vs. 7.6% so far this year, and is followed like in August by the Karoq (-2.7%). The Kodiaq (-3.3%) and Kamiq (-17.9%) leapfrog past the Scala (-28.5%) in great difficulty. As for the Fabia (-43.6%) is plummets year-on-year but stays at #6. The Superb (+1.9%) is back up 6 spots on August to #7. This time the Hyundai i30 (-32%) is the best of the rest at #8 ahead of the Toyota Corolla (-33.4%) and Hyundai Tucson (-15.5%). The Kia K4 remains by far the best selling recent launch at #11. The Tesla Model Y (+159.5%) is up 139 spots on last month to #14 just as the new Skoda Epiq advances 30 spots to #23. Launched last month, the Skoda Peaq is actually down 55 ranks to #85.
