Belgium July 2026: Sales down -7.4%, BYD smashes records

BYD sales are up 186.3% to 3.8% share in July.

The Belgian new car market is back to hell in July with registrations down -7.4% year-on-year to just 29,274. The year-to-date tally is now off -2.4% to 259,955. BMW (+20.3%) defies the negative market to easily stay atop the brands ranking with a dominant 12.2% share, its highest since last March and to be compared with 10.9% so far this year. Volkswagen (-13.2%) struggles at #2 while Mercedes (-7%) follows the market and gains two spots on June to #3. Peugeot (+19.3%) is in great shape at #4 as is Skoda (+31.5%) at #5. Volvo (+4.3%) is the only additional gainer in the Top 10 while Kia (-0.7%) is stable  but Dacia (-43%), Audi (-38.3%) and Renault (-28.1%) all dive. Just outside the Top 10, BYD (+186.3%) smashes all its records at #11 with 1,111 sales and 3.8% share (previous best #17 with 936 sales and 2.1% share reached just last month). Zeekr (+3300%), Leapmotor (+376.1%), Omoda (+328.1%), Jaecoo (+208.5%) and DS (+123.1%) make themselves noticed below.
