United Arab Emirates April 2026: Market off -41.9%, Nissan Patrol best-seller
The Nissan Patrol is the most popular vehicle in the UAE in April.
The war in Iran decimates the UAE new car market in April at -41.9% year-on-year to just 14,766 units. Toyota (-50.2%) falls faster than the market and sees its share thaw to 21.7% vs. 25.3% a year ago in April 2025. Nissan (-46.4%) stays in 2nd place at 11.1% share followed by a surging Jetour (+26.8%) up to #3 with 10.2% share vs. 4.7% a year ago and 7.6% year-to-date. Mitsubishi (-33.1%) is knocked down to #4 ahead of MG (-25.2%). Newcomer BYD is up to #6 with 6.4% share. Haval (+5%) is the only additional YoY gainer in the Top 20.
Model-wise, the Nissan Patrol (-45.8%) leads the way and snaps the YTD top spot off the Toyota Hilux (-68.8%) in the process. The Jetour T2 (-15.2%) is up seven ranks on last month to land at #2, it ranks #5 year-to-date. The Mitsubishi Outlander (+24.7%) continues to impress at #4 while the Toyota Land Cruiser SW (-54.8%) craters to #5. The MG 3 (+90.3%) is up 31 spots on March to #6 just as the Haval H9 (+80.1%) climbs 29 ranks to #7. The BYD Song Plus (#11) is the best-selling recent launch above the BYD Seal 7 (#15) and Jetour G700 (#20).
