United Arab Emirates Q1 2026: Jetour, Mitsubishi Outlander islands of growth in market off -18.6%

Jetour UAE sales are up 30.6% over Q1

New car sales in the UAE decelerate by a harsh -18.6% over Q1 to 65,969 units. While January and February were stable, March volumes imploded -47.2% to 16,334 vs. 30,938 a year ago. The US-Iran war effect at play. Toyota (-15.1%) and Nissan (-17.8%) both resist slightly better than the market, improving their share to 24% and 15.4% respectively. Mitsubishi (-4.4%) does better and stays at #3 followed by a surging Jetour (+30.6%), the only gainer in the Top 10. Geely (-2.6%) surges 6 spots on a year ago to #7 while MG (-15.8%) remains at #5. BYD makes its entrance at #11 with 2.3% share.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Hilux (-3.5%) confirms the top spot it held over the Full Year 2025, distancing the Nissan Patrol (-12.4%) for just 33 sales. The Mitsubishi Outlander (+284.6%) is the best performer near the top and climbs from #30 a year ago to #3. It ranked #9 over the Full Year 2025. The Toyota Land Cruiser (-23.4%) is relegated to 4th place above a perky Nissan Sunny (+9.8%). The Jetour T2 (-14.2%) disappoints at #6 just as the Toyota Fortuner (+2.5%) enters the Top 10 at #8. Notice also the Tesla Model Y up 654.3% to #12, the Jetour T1 up 2019.4% and the Jetour G700 the  best-selling recent launch at #23 just above the BYD Song Plus at #24.
