United Arab Emirates H1 2026: Nissan Patrol in control

The Nissan Patrol is the best-selling vehicle in the UAE so far in 2026.

It’s a period to forget for new car sales in the United Arab Emirates, with H1 volumes down -25.8% to 116,724, fully impacted by the US-Iran war. The situation is however seemingly getting better: while March was off -47.2% year-on-year, April was at -41.9%, May at -35.3% and June at -22.8%. It’s still a harsh hit. Market leaders Toyota (-32.7%) and Nissan (-32.1%) fall faster than the market and drop to 21.7% and 13.2% share respectively vs. 24% and 14.5% a year ago. Mitsubishi on the other hand is stable and stays at #3 ahead of a surging Jetour (+30%). New to the ranking, BYD lands at a splendid 6th place with 3.9% share. The next 10 carmakers all fall by at least -22%, with Haval (+13.2%) the next gainer at #17. Tank (+38.6%) also shines at #22 as does newcomer Denza at #23. BYD’s luxury brand Yangwang sells 14 units over the period.

As for models, the Nissan Patrol (-27.6%) topples the Toyota Hilux (-34.6%) to snap the pole position with 5.2% share. The Jetour T2 (-5.4%) is up to #3 and even topped the charts outright in May. The Mitsubishi Outlander (+125.4%) is the biggest gainer in the Top 10 and is up 10 spots on last year to #4. The Toyota Land Cruiser (-35%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the Nissan Sunny (-15.1%) and Toyota Camry (-14.1%) containing their loss somewhat. Outstanding result also by the Jetour T1 (+298.4%) up 85 ranks to #14 and the Toyota Yaris Sedan (+27.8%) up 22 to #15. The Jetour G700 is the best-selling recent launch at #16 ahead of the BYD Song Plus (#21), Mitsubishi Destinator (#33) and BYD Seal 7 (#39).
