Saudi Arabia April 2026: MG (+41.5%), Haval (+30.7%), Jetour (+29.7%) defy market down -21.9%

The Jetour G700 is the best-selling recent launch in Saudi Arabia.

New light vehicle sales in Saudi Arabia drop -21.9% year-on-year in April to just 50,993 units, with the year-to-date tally down -23.8% to 217,741. Toyota (-17.8%) holds 29% of the market this month vs. 31.1% year-to-date, distancing Hyundai (-13.3%) and Kia (-37.9%). Ford (-6.8%) resists at #4 while MG (+41.5%) surges to #5 and 4.4% share vs. #11 and 2.7% so far this year. Isuzu (-39.9%) and Nissan (-27.9%) follow, both in a rut. The next three carmakers, all Chinese, defy the negative market with fantastic gains: Haval is up 30.7%, Jetour up 29.7% and Changan up 22.4%. Further down, GMC advances 97.9% and BYD ranks #17 with 1% share.

Over in the models charts, the Hyundai Accent (+39.8%) snaps the top spot with 6.1% share ahead of the Hyundai Elantra (+31.9%). The Toyota Yaris Sedan is relegated to third place but still ranks #1 year-to-date. The Toyota Camry (-36.8%) suffers at #4 but is up 9 spots on last month. Adding its HEV variant (-30.4%) would place the Camry nameplate at #1 overall. Below the Ford Taurus (-15.9%) and Isuzu N-Series (-35.8%), the MG 3 (+156.3%) surges 71 ranks on March to break into the Top 10 at #8. Just outside the Top 10, the Kia Sportage (+40.5%) and Haval H9 (+88.9%) make themselves noticed. The Jetour G700 is the most popular recent launch at #44.
