Saudi Arabia August 2026: Toyota Camry and Suzuki Swift Dzire top market off -38.5%

The Suzuki Swift Dzire is up to 2nd place in Saudi Arabia in August.

Another mediocre month for the Saudi new car market, at -38.5% year-on-year to 44,423 units in August. The year-to-date tally is off -26.9% or almost 150,000 sales to just 399,028. After a freak 2nd place last month, Toyota (-51.7%) reclaims the top spot in the brands charts by a large margin at 23.8% share and despite another abysmal YoY fall. Suzuki (+6.6%) is the only gainer in the Top 7 and climbs five spots on July to #2 overall with 9.1% share vs. 5% year-to-date. Ford (-14.3%) resists and repeats at #3 ahead of last month’s leader Hyundai (-70.7%), imploding YoY. Kia (-52%) struggles also and rounds out the Top 5. Haval (+28.8%), MG (+17%) and Jetour (+12.3%) all defy the tumbling market with double-digit gains in the remainder of the Top 10. We welcome iCAUR at #33.

Over in the models charts, the Toyota Camry (-32.5%) returns to the lead with a dominant 5.2% share, cementing its YTD dominance (5.7% share). The Suzuki Swift DZire (-9.7%) rallies back up 26 spots on last month to #2, followed by a surging Nissan X-Trail (+109.8%) and the Isuzu D-Max (-9.5%), the best-selling pickup this month. The Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup (+62.7%) lodges a fantastic result at #5 overall vs. #30 year-to-date. Notice also the Haval H9 (+44.1%) up to #9 and the Toyota Land Cruiser (+10.6%) up to #7. The best-selling recent launch is the Haval V7 at #25 ahead of the Chevrolet Cruze (#32) and Jetour G700 (#44).
