Saudi Arabia July 2026: Hyundai (-13.4%) overtakes Toyota (-60.6%) for #1 brand
The Hyundai Accent is the best-selling vehicle in Saudi Arabia in July.
It’s another horrendous month for new car sales in Saudi Arabia, down -34.5% year-on-year in July to just 41,147 units. As a result, the YTD volume is now off -25% or 118,000 sales to 354,605. This month, Hyundai (-13.4%) resists to historically snap the brands top spot off Toyota (-60.6%) with 19.8% share vs. 15.1% so far this year. In comparison, Toyota is at 19.3% this month but 27.7% year-to-date. Ford (-32.8%) and Nissan (-12.3%) both overtake Kia (-53.1%) to rank #3 and #4 respectively. MG (+63.6%) and Haval (+51%) lodge the best performances in the Top 10, a Top 10 cracked by BYD holding 3.1% of the market. Notice also newcomer Jaecoo up six spots on last month to #18.
Over in the models charts, the Hyundai Accent (+20.3%) repeats at #1 with a splendid 10.4% share vs. 5.9% year-to-date. Here too we have a massive event: the Accent passes the Camry for the YTD top spot thanks to a fall limited to -7.1% vs. -25.9% for the Camry down to a ghastly 13th place this month (-79%) – and this is with adding HEV and ICE variants. The Toyota Yaris Sedan (-44.4%) is up to #2 while the MG 5 (+509.8%) surges 25 spots on June to #3, distancing the Ford Taurus (+14%) and Toyota Hilux (-53.1%). Excellent performances also by the Nissan Patrol (+91.5%), Hyundai i10 (+29.8%) and Jetour T2 (+19.5%).
