Saudi Arabia Q1 2026: Haval (+63.6%), Jetour (+23%) shine, sales down -24.3%
Haval sales are up 63.6% year-on-year over Q1.
The Saudi new car market sinks -24.3% year-on-year over the first quarter of 2026 to just 166,748 units. If January and February were both weak, March pulled sales even further down at -34.7% year-on-year to 51,484 vs. 78,877 in March 2025. Toyota (-6.2%) resists and sees its share jump from 25.6% to 31.7%. Hyundai (-33.8%) in contrast struggles to 13.3% share vs. 15.2% a year ago. Kia (-22.8%), Nissan (-40.8%) and Ford (-28.2%) hold onto their Q1 2025 rankings to round out the Top 5. Isuzu (-16.4%) and Suzuki (-15.1%) manage to keep their losses below the market rate but it’s Jetour (+23%) and Haval (+63.6%) that post by far the best performances – and the only YoY gains – in the Top 10. BYD lands at #21.
Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris Sedan (+72.7%) surges to #2, toppling the Hyundai Accent (-14.6%). The Toyota Camry (-3.5%) ranks #3 but is a faraway #1 when adding its HEV variant counted separately (#6). The Toyota Hilux (+6.2%) and Kia Pegas (-36%) close out the Top 5. Significant gainers below include the Haval H9 (+117.4%), Mazda3 (+46.8%) and Jetour T2 (+40.1%). The best-selling recent launch is the Kia K4 (#27) ahead of the Chevrolet Cruze (#34) and Haval V7 (#50).
