The Suzuki Swift is now #1 year-to-date in Colombia.
Colombian customers bought 23,323 new vehicles in June, a 14.1% year-on-year increase that leads to a year-to-date volume up 11.4% to 123,849 units. Renault (+24.2%) almost doubles the market growth to cement its lead with 21.7% of the market vs. 18.6% over H1. Chevrolet (+10.2%) can’t quite do the same and sees its market share thaw to 13.8% vs. 16.1% so far this year. Toyota (+30.7%) continues to impress but it’s Suzuki (+113.5%) that nabs the title of best improver in the Top 10, climbing to #4 overall. Foton (+58.7%), Kia (+49.1%) and Volkswagen (+18.8%) also beat the market in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, BYD (+1466.7%), Shacman (+2020%), Changan (+209.7%) and Karry (+850%) post surreal gains.
Model-wise, the Suzuki Swift (+305.2%) soars to pole position with a stellar 7.4% share, and spectacularly climbs from #5 to #1 year-to-date as a result. The Renault Kwid (+15.7%) is up one spot on May to #2 overall with 4.8% share vs. 3.2% year-to-date. The Toyota Corolla Cross (+0.6%) edges up to return on the podium at #3, distancing the Renault Duster (+48%) and Stepway (+53.1%) rounding out the Top 5 with very solid lifts. Below, the Chevrolet Tracker (+264.7%) and Onix (+190.8%) are even more impressive while the Renault Sandero (+28.1%) and Kia Picanto (+20.4%) are more reserved but still outpace the market, unlike the Renault Logan (+6.2%).
