Taiwan June 2019: Ford (+65.2%) single-handedly pulls market up 0.9%
Ford Focus sales are up 292.8% year-on-year in Taiwan.
New car sales in Taiwan gain 0.9% year-on-year in June to 38.239 units, leading to a year-to-date tally now down -6.9% to 206.922. Toyota (-9.1%) goes markedly against the grain with a sizeable drop but easily remains the most popular brand in the country at 21.9% share. Mitsubishi/CMC (+5.8%) follows, lodging the only year-on-year uptick in the Top 5 ahead of Honda (-13.3%), Nissan/Infiniti (-17.2%) and Mercedes (-3.8%). Ford (+65.2%) is the hero of the month, while Lexus (+35.8%) also impresses.
In the models ranking, the Toyota Corolla (+24.6%) once again holds off the RAV4 (+37.2%) and overtakes it YTD to reclaim the top spot. The Honda CR-V (+3.9%) and CMC Veryca (+43.9%) both bypass the Nissan Kicks to end the month at #3 and #4 respectively. The Ford Focus (+292.8%) multiplies its sales by 4 year-on-year thanks to the new model with the Lexus NX (+70.4%) also making itself noticed in the Top 10. Below the Nissan Kicks, the Lexus UX (#25) and Toyota Auris (#28) dominate recent launches.
