New car sales in the Netherlands are up 4.7% year-on-year in July to 32.735 units, bringing the year-to-date tally up 15% to 258.912 registrations. Opel (+20%) and Peugeot (+26%) both overtake Renault (-26%) while Toyota (+39%), Kia (+33%) and Mercedes (+30%) post the largest gains in the Top 10. Below, Mini (+23%), Citroen (+26%), Mazda (+27%), Alfa Romeo (+28%), Fiat (+28%), Nissan (+33%) and Tesla (+66%) all impress. Model-wise, the VW Polo takes control of both the July sales charts and the YTD ones thanks to a strong 1.189 sales and despite a 16% year-on-year drop. Leader up to last month, the Renault Clio is down 33% to #9 in July and now ranks #2 year-to-date. The Kia Picanto is up 13% YoY and 12 spots on June to #2, the VW Golf drops 24%, the Opel Astra is down 3% and the VW Up down 25%. In contrast the Opel Karl is yup 52%, the Toyota Yaris up 54%, the Ford Focus up 53% and the Peugeot 3008 up 27-fold on the previous model to #14.
