The new car market situation is fast deteriorating in Russia with June sales down a horrid 17% year-on-year to 199,398 units which brings the year-to-date total to 1,229,839, down 8% on 2013. AEB doesn’t see the market rebounding any soon with H2 sales predicted to be down another 16% with the Full Year 2014 projection now standing at 2.45 million units, down 12% on 2013. In the models ranking, the Lada Granta leads again but is down a surprising 24% on June 2013 while the Hyundai Solaris, launched almost one year prior, is stable year-on-year in 2nd place and therefore gains significant market share vs. June 2013.
