Russia September 2026: Market down -6.2%, Jeland repeats inside Top 10
The Jeland J6 is a rebadged Jaecoo 5.
The Russian new car market is off -6.2% year-on-year in September to 115,060 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 7.2% to 960,059. For once local behemoth Lada (+7.6%) performs markedly better than its home market and reaches 24.7% share, its best since last May. Haval (-19.6%) is in total freefall but holds onto the 2nd spot with 11.6% share vs. 13.3 year-to-date. Tenet (+365.8%) reaches its best share since June at 10.8% and distances a sinking Geely (-35.7%). Changan (+4.4%) remains above Belgee (-41.8%) at #5. Mazda (+279.5%) shoots up to #7, its best ranking since last February (#6). New brand Jeland repeats at #10 with 2.2% share. This is a new Chinese-Russian joint-venture assembling localised versions of Chery and Jaecoo crossovers at the former General Motors plant in Shushary, Saint Petersburg.
Over in the models charts, the Lada Granta (-9.3%) suffers but still manages a 9.4% share. The Tenet T7 (+404.1%) is back up to #2 for the first time since last May, overtaking the Haval Jolion (-7.6%). The Lada Vesta (-10.2%) is also weak at #4 ahead of the new Tenet T4L, ranking at a record 5th place for the 4th month in a row. The valiant Lada Niva Legend (+6.1%) is back inside the Top 10 at #7, displacing the Lada Iskra (+3253.2%). The Mazda CX-5 (+309.4%) is down two spots on August to #10.
