Russia July 2026: Mazda, Toyota, Tenet stand out
The Mazda CX-5 is up to a record 8th place in China in July.
The Russian new car market edges up 1.2% year-on-year in July to 122,092 units. This way, the year-to-date tally is up 12.2% to 730,714. For once local behemoth Lada (+3.5%) outpaces its home market to 23.9% share, yet still below the 24.8% it commands YTD. Haval gains 19% at #2 while newcomer Tenet , a China-Russia joint venture assembling rebadged Chery vehicles at the ex-Volkswagen Kaluga plant, is just 86 sales off its volume record reached last month. Geely (-0.6%) and Jetour (-0.5%) are stable but Changan (-30.5%) and Belgee (-24.9%) are hit hard. Two foreign manufacturers post the biggest lifts: Toyota is up 35.8% at #8 and Mazda up an extravagant 444.8% at #9. Finally GAC (-32.2%) scores its first Top 10 in exactly a year.
Lada Niva Travel sales are up 37.7% in July.
Over in the models charts, the Lada Granta (-14.9%) sinks but stays in the lead at 9.1% share, distancing the Haval Jolion (+29.7%) in great shape. The Tenet T7 (aka Chery Tiggo 7L) repeats at #3 with a solid 5.7% share ahead of the Lada Vesta (-10.7%). The new Tenet T4L (aka Chery Tiggo 7) stays at #5 for its third month in market. The new Lada Iskra is up one spot on June to #6 which is a new ranking record for the nameplate. The Lada Niva Travel (+37.7%) posts a very healthy score at #7. The Mazda CX-5 (+589.4%) is the best-selling foreign model in Russia and the only one in the Top 10 at #8, a record ranking it also held last February. The new Belgee X50+ remains in 9th place just as the Haval M6 (+14.5%) returns inside the Top 10.
