Russia June 2026: Tenet, Toyota and Mazda impress

The Tenet T4L lands directly in 5th place.

New car sales in Russia are up 29% year-on-year in June to 116,276 units, leading to a H1 volume up 14.8% to 608,618. Local behemoth Lada (+16.2%) leads again but trails its home market once again and sees its share thaw from 26.8% to 24.2% year-on-year and from 29.3 to 25% year-to-date. Haval (+76.1%) surges ahead to 13.9% in 2nd place. At #3, newcomer Tenet, a China-Russia joint venture assembling rebadged Chery vehicles at the ex-Volkswagen Kaluga plant, breaks its volume record at 12,636 and improves its share month-on-month for the third consecutive time to 10.9%.

Below, Belgee (+24.9%) and Geely (+22.6%) almost match the market while Changan (-13%) endures the only YoY drop in the Top 10. In contrast, Toyota (+121.9%) more than doubles its share year-on-year for the 2nd straight month and repeats at #7. But Mazda (+523.6%) does even better and returns to the Top 10 at #9. Both Toyota and Mazda are not officially present in Russia but sell cars through a Russian joint venture. Notice also Jaecoo up 77.9% to #10.

Model-wise, the Lada Granta (-2%) suffers at 9.7% share vs. 12.8% a year ago and falls below the 10% share mark for the 4th time this year. The Haval Jolion (+118.2%) reclaims the 2nd spot for the first time since last March, dislodging the new Tenet T7 which however remains #2 year-to-date. The Lada Vesta (-3.5%) stays in 4th place. We have two newcomers inside the Top 10 in June: the Tenet T4L lands at #5 for its second month in market while the Belgee X50+ ascends to #9. The Lada Iskra is back up to #7, the Lada Niva Travel is up 56% to #6 and the Geely Monjaro returns inside the Top 10 at #8.
