New car sales in the Czech Republic are up a flamboyant 20% year-on-year in March to 16,576 registrations, bringing the First Quarter total to 42,993 units, up a splendid 18% on 2013. Very stable models ranking, with the Top 3 best-sellers cementing their position this month: the Skoda Octavia reigns supreme with 1,724 sales and 10.4%, the Skoda Rapid is up to 1,158 units and 7%, its strongest ever monthly volume, highest share since last August and 6th time at #2 in the last 9 months. In third place the Skoda Fabia falls to 4%, its 2nd lowest ever share at home behind the 3.8% it hit last January.
Further down, the Hyundai i30 reclaims the 4th spot and #1 foreigner title it held over the Full Year 2013 off the VW Golf, the Hyundai ix20 is up two ranks on February to #6, the Dacia Duster is up 7 to #9 and the Logan up two to #13, making it two Dacias in the Top 11, the Seat Leon is up 6 spots to #18, Ford Ka up 99 to #37, BMW X5 up one further to #40 vs. #103 over the Full Year 2013 and the Mercedes GLA lands directly inside the Top 100 for its very first month of sales in the country at #100 with 30 units sold.
