New car sales in Slovakia are back into positive territory, up 2% year-on-year in November to 5,553 registrations, with the year-to-date total now standing at 58,677 units, down 7% on 2012 with one month to go. The Skoda Octavia III is now established in pole position, selling 972 units for a number 8.4% share over the October-November period, and now #2 year-to-date, passing the Skoda Rapid. The Skoda Fabia remains solid at #2 and 6% share over the period and will remain on top over the full year though as its advance over the Octavia III cannot be eclipsed in a single month (3,545 sales vs. 2,634).
The VW Golf VII is back up 7 spots on September to #6, the Skoda Roomster up 8 to #12 and the Honda CR-V up 5 to #16. Year-to-date, the Hyundai i30 (#4) and Kia Cee’d (#5) remain strong, the Suzuki SX4 is down to #7 but still up one spot on its 2012 ranking, the Skoda Octavia II slips down to #8 and should be passed by the Opel Astra IV and Kia Sportage by the time 2013 comes to an end. Finally notice the Peugeot 301 making its first appearance among the 20 most popular vehicles in the country at #20 with 658 sales and 1.1% share so far in 2013.
