After a 18 months hiatus, detailed Slovakian new car sales data is back on BSCB, just in time for the Full Year 2013 figures! These sales figures include LCV and over the period the Slovak market is down 4% year-on-year to 70,752 registrations. The Skoda Octavia and Fabia remain the best-sellers in the country in spite of sales down a harsh 37% and 29% respectively, clearly impacted by the arrival of the Skoda Rapid in third position with 2,572 sales and 3.6% share. Note my Full Year 2012 article stated the Fabia in the lead however different generations of Octavia were counted separately then.
The following 5 models all gain significant ground as well: the Hyundai i30 is up 22%, the Kia Cee’d up 14%, VW Golf up 31% and the Suzuki SX4 up 25% to #7. Notice also the Hyundai ix35 up 24% to #14, Peugeot 208 up 104% to #16, Honda CR-V up 11% to #20, Dacia Sandero up 89% to #22, the Peugeot 301 landing at #23 and the Citroen C-Elysée at #48. Finally, let’s notice the very first appearance in any ranking in the world of the Qoros 3 Sedan with a total of 12 units sold in 2013 in Slovakia: 2 in September and 10 in December…
