The Czech new car market is down year-on-year once again but slightly less so than last month at -8% to 14,822 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 66,336 units, down 13% on 2012. Now this is a historical month in the Czech Republic for homegrown carmaker Skoda: for the first time in the 118-year history of the brand, its entire range fits within the monthly Top 10! The fact that the entire range fit within the Top 10 may have happened before but never had Skoda’s range been so extensive, currently composed of 7 models. Basically what it means in crude terms is that in Czech Republic, Skoda doesn’t have any dud models and all sell extremely well, a very rare feat for any manufacturer anywhere in the world.
