Canada April 2013: Ford F-Series & Dodge Ram at historical levels

Pick-up trucks are what Canadian consumers want right now! The Ford F-Series is up a whopping 38% year-on-year in April to 12,016 registrations, its 2nd highest ever monthly score below April 2009 (14,458). Year-to-date, the F-Series stands at 37,886 units, up a massive 20% on a record 2012 figure… In 2nd place the Dodge Ram is up 32% to a huge 8,090 sales which could potentially be its strongest monthly volume ever! It is up 19% year-to-date to 26,279 units.
Below the Hyundai Elantra, back to the #1 Passenger Car spot at #3 overall with 5,535 sales, and the Honda Civic (-10%) we find another pick-up truck: the GMC Sierra at #5, up a very solid 18% on April 2012 to 4,965 sales (highest since June 2011) and up 9% year-to-date to 14,396 units. Notice also the Toyota Corolla up 5 spots on March to #6, the Ford Escape up 26% to #8, Honda CR-V up 31% to #9 and Toyota RAV4 up 38% to #11.
Further down, the Subaru Forester is up 67% to #35, the Dodge Dart is down 3 spots to #40, the Chevrolet Trax up 11 to #53, its twin the Buick Encore is up 52 to #74, the Chevrolet Camaro is up 46 to #100, the Hyundai Santa Fe XL up 37 to #126 and the Kia Cadenza makes its very first appearance in the Canadian ranking at #226 with 14 sales this month.
