Thanks to Luka I can share with you for the first time on BestSellingCarsBlog a Private Sales ranking for Croatia, to see what people really buy. If the Opel Astra snapped up the top spot overall last year, it is nowhere to be seen in the Top 5 most popular models to private buyers… Instead, the Citroen C4 takes the lead with 558 sales and a 58% Private Sales ratio, followed closely by the Hyundai i30 at 550 units and 65% PS ratio. The Kia Rio also performs very well at #4 with 73% PS ratio vs. #13 overall.
Brand-wise, this time it’s the turn of Opel to take the lead with private buyers with 1,390 sales and 52% PS ratio vs. #3 overall, followed by Renault at 1,284 units and 55% and Peugeot at 1,267 sales and 46%. Good performers include Kia at 68% PS ratio, Hyundai at 63%, Chevrolet at 62% and Dacia at 71%. Reversely, Volkswagen performs the worst with only 27% of its total sales in the country going to private buyers. This is explained when we know that VW’s main importer in the country also owns the largest rental car company, an easy output for the cars it imports…
