World: 6 months 2012 Top 10 markets now complete
The Hyundai Eon is #6 in India over the first 6 months of 2012
For the first time on Best Selling Cars Blog, you now have access to an exhaustive study of the 10 biggest car markets in the world halfway through 2012, with the evolution of the best-selling models year-on-year. There is a newcomer in the Top 10 club: Canada, with sales up 7% year-on-year to 862,830 units, it kicks Italy out of the Top 10 (817,987 registrations and -20%).
Interestingly, only one country among the 10 biggest sees its best-selling model change compared to one year ago: China, where the Buick Excelle takes the lead, replacing the VW Lavida down to #8 over the period. Among the successful all-new models, the Toyota Aqua lands directly #3 in Japan with 128,243 sales, the Lada Granta is #5 in Russia at 45,131 units, the Hyundai Eon is #6 in India with 52,761 sales, the Chevrolet Cobalt is #12 in Brazil with 31,259 units and the Peugeot 208 is #13 in France with 19,618 sales.
