France 1 to 11 June 2012: Renault Scenic in pole position

After going through all best-sellers in France from 1949 to 2011 I am now able to share with you France’s latest weekly sales figures. In the first 11 days of the month 53,153 new cars were purchased in the country, down 6% year-on-year. Peugeot keeps the lead of the brands ranking with 15.9% share ahead of Citroen at 14.8% and Renault at 14.4%. Notice Volkswagen up 22% at 10.5% and Dacia up 23% at 5.3%.

Over the period the Renault Scenic is now in pole position, a feat in had not achieved in at least 18 months. It sells 1,919 units for a 3.6% share, just above the Citroen C3 at 1,911 sales. Exceptional performance of the VW Polo, staying #3 with 1,776 units and even passing the all-new Peugeot 208 down to #4 with 1,767 sales and 3.3%. The Renault Clio rounds up the Top 5 at a weak 1,619 units and 3%.
