As usual we are getting sales data for Turkey with one month delay so this is not the 2011 summary. The Turkish car market is down 9% in November to 44,597 registrations, bringing the year-to-date total to 504,208 units, up 23%. Surprise in pole position this month: the Ford Fiesta leads with 2,296 sales and 5.1%, up 4 spots on October and just above the Renault Symbol at 2,261 units. While the Fiesta is #5 year-to-date the Symbol is still by far the best-selling model in the country in 2011 with 32,024 sales and 6.4%.
The Renault Fluence (4.7%), Fiat Linea (4.5%) and Opel Astra HB (3.2%) each drop one spot as a result, the VW Polo is up to #6 and the Hyundai i20 up 7 spots to #9. But the other big event this month is the arrival of the new generation Hyundai Accent, named Blue, in the Top 10 at #10 with 961 sales and 2.2%. In theory the Accent Blue should tease the Symbol for the first place in 2012…
Further down the ranking, the VW Jetta is back up to #11, the BMW 3 Series stays solid at #17, the new generation Hyundai Elantra makes its very first appearance in the Turkish Top 20 at #19 with 701 sales and 1.6%, the Nissan Juke is up to #21, ahead of the Qashqai, and the Mercedes C-Class is up to #24.
