Sweden November 2011: VW Passat at its best ever!

New car sales in Sweden are up just 0.5% this month to 26,894 registrations, bringing the 2011 year-to-date total to 279,582 units, up 8%. The Volvo V70 keeps its title with a very respectable 8.6% market share thanks to 2,300 sales, well ahead of its 2011 level at 7.2% and 20,231 units which is 2 full percentage points below its market share at the same time in 2010.
In 2nd place, the VW Passat is up one spot on October and with 1,789 sales and 6.7% this is the Passat nameplate’s best-ever market share in Sweden, no less! It is also #2 year-to-date at 14,466 units and 5.2%. The Volvo V60 continues to impress at #3 with 1,352 sales and 5%, it is still #4 in the 2011 year-to-date ranking with 11,536 units and 4.1%, getting dangerously close to the VW Golf at 11,673 sales and 4.2%…
Renault has a very strong month, placing the Megane at #6 and 2.7%, its best score since January, and the Clio at #7 and 2.5%, its best share in a year. Other great performers this month include the Audi A6 at #12 vs. #19 in 2011, the Toyota Yaris at #17 vs. #24, the Toyota Avensis at #21 vs. #26, the BMW 1 Series at #26 vs. #40 and the Mitsubishi ASX at #34 vs. #51.
