The Italians are one of the last consumers in the world with the Swedish and Slovak to continue to love Station Wagons (SW), with most models in the Large segment selling almost exclusively as Station Wagons. This is why there is a monthly update about Italian SW sales on BSCB. In a market down 20% overall, SW sales in November are down 27% year-on-year to 8,345 units, bringing the SW market share down to 7.8% from 8.6% a year ago. The Opel Astra is back in pole position thanks to 869 sales this month but stays #2 year-to-date behind the Ford Focus at 10,892 units vs. 11,094.
Very strong over the past few months, the Audi A4 and VW Passat are solid again in November and both sell 751 units for an out-of-this-world 91% Station Wagon ratio. The BMW 3 Series, now with the new generation available in Touring configuration, is up to a brilliant 5th place with 570 sales and 54% SW ratio vs. 39% year-to-date. Notice also the Volvo V60 back in the Top 10 at #10.
