Chile July 2026: MG (+40.5%), Kia (+11.8%) shine, Toyota Hilux #1

The Toyota Hilux is the best-selling vehicle in Chile in July.

24,722 new light vehicles hit Chilean roads in July, a drastic -8.1% year-on-year fall. Thanks to a good first semester the YTD tally remains in positive at +3.3% to 178,296 units. Brand leader Toyota (-2.7%) manages to fall slower than the market to 8.2% share, but Hyundai (+1.6%) and Kia (+11.8%) both impress and round out the podium. The next five automakers skid by the double-digits. Chevrolet (-25%) is the most affected ahead of GWM (-18%), Suzuki (-15.8%), Ford (-14.8%) and Changan (-11.3%). In contrast Jetour (+64.8%), MG (+40.5%) and Foton (+22.7%) shine. All in all, the 32 Chinese carmakers selling at least one unit this month add up to 36.5% share vs. 35% year-to-date.

Model-wise, the Toyota Hilux (-16.6%) lodges a 6th win in the past 12 months despite a harsh YoY drop. Similarly, the GWM Poer (-29.2%) freefalls but still manages a 2nd place overall above the YTD leader, the Mitsubishi L200 (-6%), ensuring the July podium is 100% pickups. The MG ZX (+67.2%) is a previous generation ZS and is up nine spots on June to #4 with the Hyundai Grand i10 (+31.2%) closing out the Top 5, also in very healthy fashion. Excellent scores also by the Kia Sonet (+74.8%), Suzuki Swift (+63.4%) and Fronx (+41.1%).
