Chile September 2026: Toyota RAV4, Suzuki Fronx, MG ZX highlight negative market

Toyota RAV4 sales in Chile are up 171.1% in September.

New light vehicle sales in Chile drop -2.8% year-on-year in September to 30,989 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 10.9% to 237,181. Toyota (+32.4%) continues to evolve at historical highs: after hitting a record 11% last month it is at 10.6% in September. Hyundai (+8.7%) and Kia (+7.5%) follow, meaning the podium defies the negative market. In contrast Suzuki (-18.9%) disappoints at #4 vs. #2 so far this year. Below Ford (+2.7%) up one rank to #5, Mitsubishi (+19.8%) rallies back up 11 spots on August to #6. Below, Tesla (+463%), Maxus (+100.7%) and Jetour (+21.8%) stand out. For once Chinese carmakers as a whole see their sales drop slightly year-on-year at -1.1% to 33.3% share vs. 34.5% year-to-date.

Over in the models ranking, the Toyota Hilux (+13%) stays on top with 3% share, followed by the Mitsubishi L200 (+35.7%) back up 16 spots on last month to #2. The Toyota RAV4 (+171.1%) is down one rank to #3 while the Suzuki Fronx (+135.6%) is in equally great shape at #4. The MG ZX (+114.4%) is up 19 spots to #6 and the Kia Sonet (+52.2%) up three to #7. Notice also the Toyota Yaris up 91%, the Suzuki Swift up 80.7% and the Toyota Raize up 67.4%.
