Explore: The cars of Doha, Qatar
Exeed LX in Doha
A few months ago I was able to visit Doha in Qatar, and this was a great excuse to do a little “car safari” to explore what’s in the streets. My observations are below.

The first striking observation while scanning the Qatari car landscape is the ubiquitousness of the Toyota Land Cruiser. This comes as no surprise as the model has topped the annual charts for at least the past 15 years including 2025, and over Q1 2026 with 12.3% share.

Toyota holds almost 32% of the Qatari market so far in 2026 and it shows, with the Yaris sedan and Corolla seen frequently.

Jetour is the #2 brand in the country and I did spot a T2 crossover.

Nissan Patrol, Sunny
Nissan comes up at #3 in the Qatari brands charts over Q1 2026, and the Patrol is very popular indeed, with the Sunny also frequent.

Kia is the #4 brand, and I spotted quite a few Sonet SUVs with the Pegas also frequently seen.
Suzuki Ertiga
Changan CS35 Plus, Geely Emgrand and MG RX5
Finally, the Chinese have successfully inserted themselves into the Qatari car landscape, with Geely, MG, Geely and Changan all inside the Top 20. Only missing brands in my review are Tank, Haval and Denza.

Obviously a country full of people who don’t care about cars at all. 4 Wheels and some average looking kind of body ? Perfect 😅
It’s very interesting that the GCC markets were so heavily dominated by the Panther platform until its discontinuation, and now US makes are virtually absent.
Great photos!
More and more Chinese cars. They need reliability under the heat so they buy Asian cars. They are smart.
I think the first picture is a dark Dacia Duster behind.
Otherwise, no European cars in the pictures. I would assume some Turkish production like Fiat, Renault, Hyundai or commercial Fords.
Nice overview!
Hi Pavel – yes indeed a Duster but sold under the Renault brand here.
I spotted a Toyota Camry and Mazda 3 in the background
