Qatar Q1 2026: Toyota Land Cruiser #1, Tank 500 and 700 both in Top 10
The Tank 700 ranks #9 in Qatar over Q1.
Qatari new car sales drop -10.9% year-on-year over Q1 to 19,617 units. Toyota (+0.3%) is stable and climbs from 28.3% to 31.9% share, distancing Jetour (-20.3%). Jetour would appear to have peaked here, down from 12.8% over Q1 2025 to 11.5% now which is still an outstanding result (and world best for the brand). Nissan (-35.6%) is in complete agony at 6.4% of the market vs. 8.9% a year ago. Kia (+5.7%) is solid but it’s Tank (+96.5%) that impresses at #5 (world best here too). Haval (+164.8%) does even better at #7 vs. #18 a year ago and Suzuki (+47.5%) also shines at #8.
Model-wise, the Toyota Land Cruiser (+1.6%) is the faraway leader with 12.3% share vs. 10.8% over Q1 2025, followed this time by the Toyota Hilux (+3.7%). The Jetour T2 (-65%) completely implodes to #3 and 3.6% share vs. 9.3% a year ago. The Lexus LX (-19.2%) also struggles but ranks #4 vs. #6 over the Full Year 2025. The Toyota Yaris Sedan (+79.2%) lodges a sumptuous improvement to round out the Top 5 while the Haval H9 (+164.6%) advances to #7. The Tank 500 (+2.2%) ranks #8 and is now joined by the Tank 700 at #9.
