The MG ZS breaks into the Romanian Top 10 for the first time in May.

Toyota (+17.4%) vastly outpaces the market to remain in 2nd place ahead of Skoda (+0.1%) and Volkswagen (+1.3%) both stable. Ford (-8.4%) struggles YoY but is up three spots on last month to #5. MG (+88.5%) posts a record ranking at #6 (previous best #9 in December 2025) and record share at 4.2% (previous best 3.2% last month). Similarly, BYD (+45800%) delivers an all time high #7 ranking with 459 sales and 4.1% share. Its previous best were #9 and 3.9% last January and 344 sales last month.
Model-wise, the Dacia Duster (+2.4%) enjoys a 6th consecutive month at #1 with 8.7% share which is its best so far this year. The crossover holds 7.2% of its home market so far this year, well above the #2, the Dacia Bigster (+222%) at #4 this month. The Toyota Corolla (+40.1%) repeats at a record 2nd place, distancing a cratering Dacia Logan (-47.8%). The Skoda Octavia (-2.1%) rounds out the Top 5 ahead of the MG ZS (+178.4%), breaking into the Romanian Top 10 for the first time at #6 (previous best #14 in August 2024). The Toyota Yaris Cross (+39.2%) continues on a strong year at #9 while the Audi Q5 (+1135.7%) delivers a maiden Top 10 finish at #10.
