Slovenia June 2023: Peugeot, Tesla, MG impress, sales up just 6.3%
Peugeot 2008 sales are up 4-fold year-on-year in June.
New car sales in Slovenia edge up 6.3% year-on-year in June to 4,669 units, keeping in mind June 2022 was down -15.1% on the year prior which in turn was down -21.1% on 2021. So we are still evolving at particularly low levels. The H1 2023 tally is up 5.7% to 27,310. Volkswagen (+3.2%) easily retains the brands top spot with 16% share ahead of Skoda (-3.4%) in difficulty at 9.8%. Renault (+1.3%) is just one sale below while Toyota (-6.3%) ensures the Top 4 is identical to May. Peugeot (+86%), Audi (+67.6%) and Kia (+36.2%) all shoot up in the remainder of the Top 10. Below, MG (+3550%!), Tesla (+122.7%), Cupra (+82.7%), Mercedes (+54.3%) and Citroen (+54.1%) make themselves noticed.
Over in the models aisle, the Skoda Octavia (+25.3%) threepeats at #1 and snaps the YTD pole position off the Renault Clio (+69.4%) for just 3 sales. The VW T-Roc (-1.4%) is up two spots on May to land on the third step of the podium, distancing the Toyota Yaris Cross (-3.3%) and VW Tiguan (-32%) both in a rut. The Kia Stonic surges +55.4% to #6, its highest ranking since September 2021 when it also placed 6th. The Renault Captur (-6.5%) and Dacia Sandero (+2.1%) follow with disappointing results while the Fiat 500 (+33.3%) rises 62 ranks on last month to #9 but is still down year-to-date (-6.7%). Notice also the Peugeot 2008 (+318.8%), Peugeot 208 (+225%) and VW Passat (+121.9%).
