Greece Full Year 2022: Toyota Yaris celebrates 10 straight years at #1, market up 4.3%

New car sales in Greece edge up 4.3% year-on-year in 2022 to 105,283 units. Toyota (+12.6%) beats the market to improve its share from 13% to 14.1%. Hyundai (+3.5%) is also up and overtakes Peugeot (-14.1%) to land in 2nd place. Volkswagen (+2.7%) and Opel (-0.1%) follow like in 2021 just as Mercedes (+11.5%) gains three spots to #6 and Fiat (+37.2%) soars 6 ranks to #7. Kia (-1.1%) stays at #8, BMW (+6.2%) is up to #9 and Suzuki (-9%) is down three spots to #10. Citroen (-18.8%) is knocked out of the Top 10 at #11. Below, Dacia (+39.7%), Renault (+30.6%), Jeep (+28.1%), Ford (+16.9%), Volvo (+12.6%) and Mini (+10.4%) all impress but none more so than DS (+341.9%) up to #21.

Model-wise, the Toyota Yaris (+21.8%) celebrates 10 consecutive years at #1 and vastly outpaces the market to score a 5.5% share. That’s way above the Peugeot 208 (-0.4%) at 3.3%. The Opel Corsa (-1.2%) is up one spot on last year to #3 while the Toyota Yaris Cross (+1023%) ends its first full year in market at a splendid 4th place. The VW T-Roc (+37.5%) is also in great shape and lifts 8 ranks to #5, passing the Citroen C3 (-22.5%) in difficulty. The Peugeot 3008 (+29.7%) is up 5 spots to #7 and the Renault Clio (+13.5%) is up four to #10 but the Hyundai i20 (-4.4%) and Toyota C-HR (-26.8%) both lose ground. The Fiat 500 (+47.7%), Hyundai Tucson (+33.4%), Fiat Panda (+24.6%) and Ford Puma (+19.9%) shine below.
