Israel September/Q3 2022: Geely Geometry C up to #3

Thanks to our local partner cartube.co.il, we can share with you today Israeli September brands data for Israel as well as monthly models data for Q3. 17,020 new cars hit Israeli roads this month, that’s a 37.5% year-on-year gain, however September 2021 was down -32.9% on the year prior. The year-to-date tally now stands at 218,232 units, still off-12.3% over the same period last year. Kia (+50.2%) vastly outpaces the market to easily remain in pole position with 18.9% share. It becomes #2 year-to-date in the process with 14.2% of the market. Leader year-to-date, Hyundai (+21.2%) remains in 2nd place like in August with Toyota (-7.1%) at #3 both for the month and YTD. Mazda (+109.9%) and Skoda (+85.8%) ensure the Top 5 is unchanged on last month. Tesla (+153.6%) has its usual strong end-of-quarter month at #7 vs. #20 so far this year, while Geely is down two spots on a record #6 last month to #8 in September, still by far the best-selling Chinese brand in the country. We welcome Leap Motor at #50.
In the models ranking and over Q3 2022, the Kia Picanto (+9.3%) holds onto the top spot above the Hyundai Tucson (+43.5%). The best performer can be found in third place: the Geely Geometry C is up 11 spots on Q2 and even ranked #1 in August! An extraordinary success for the Chinese EV. The Kia Seltos (+135.9%) also shines in 4th place above a struggling Kia Stonic (-15.6%). Outstanding period for the Mazda CX-3 (+1545.4%) up to #6 from #36 in Q2. The Toyota Yaris Cross maintains a very high level and is the best-selling Toyota over the period at #7. The remainder of the Top 10 is down, with the Toyota Corolla (-70%) the hardest hit followed by the Kia Sportage (-20.7%) and Mazda CX-5 (-1.6%).
