According to our Israeli partner cartube.co.il, the local car market freefalls -22.8% in August to 20,494 registrations, leading to a year-to-date tally off -14.9% to 201,212. Kia (-29.7%) is up one spot on July to land in the pole position with 14.8% share vs. 13.8% so far this year and despite falling faster than the market. Hyundai (-18.9%) drops to #1 while Toyota (-29.3%) remains in third place. Mazda (-21.3%) ranks 4th above Skoda (+1.8%) managing the only year-on-year gain in the Top 10. Newly launched Geely is up four ranks on last month to hit a new record 6th place overall. In the remainder of the Top 10, Suzuki (-7.3%) and Chevrolet (-3.1%) resist but Seat (-36.2%) and Mitsubishi (-28.5%) implode. Always is up to #24 and Hongqi up to #40.
