Kazakhstan June 2022: Chevrolet up to 34.6% share, Exeed repeats in Top 10 in market dipping -1.4%

Exeed repeats in the Kazakh Top 10 in June.

11,854 new vehicles hit Kazakh roads in June, a minimal -1.4% year-on-year drop leading to a H1 2022 tally down -5.1% to 51,841 units. Local producer Chevrolet (+35%) improves its share to 34.6% just as Hyundai (+29.8%) also ignores the negative market to 21.3% share. Yet that is below its year-to-date level of 25% where it remains #1 for now. Kia (-10.4%) underperforms but keeps its share above YTD at 11.1% vs. 10.7%. This means the Top 3 manufacturers hold a whopping 67% of the market in June. Lada (+8%) and Lexus (+120.5%) also defy the market with year-on-year upticks while Chinese newcomers Chery (#9) and Exeed (#10) remain inside the Top 10.

Over in the models ranking, the Chevrolet Cobalt (+147.3%) remains at stratospheric heights with 21.4% share vs. 15.7% so far this year and is followed this month by the Chevrolet Nexia (-32.8%) still in a rut year-on-year though. The Hyundai Tucson (+187.4%) remains in third place while the Kia Sportage (+63.1%) leaps 15 spots on May to #4. Strikingly, 8 of the Top 10 models are up by at least double-digit despite the market being down. The Kia Soul (+1325%) is the most impressive, followed by the Lada Granta (+591.9%), Hyundai Sonata (+496.6%), Hyundai Elantra (+106.2%) – accelerating to #2 year-to-date in the process, and the Toyota Prado (+73.5%). The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 (#12) and Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (#15) are the best-selling newcomers
